Every two minutes Crosswire reads the public news feeds of the outlets below and groups articles that cover the same event.
News, Politics and World: a story appears only when a left-leaning, a right-leaning and an alternative or independent outlet are all covering it. Each side shows up to three articles from different outlets, so you can compare how each one tells it.
Markets, Sports, Movies and Pop Culture: a story appears when two or more outlets cover it, with two or three article links.
Lane labels are editorial judgments based on each outlet's overall reputation and published media-bias ratings. They describe the outlet, not any single article or reporter. "Alternative" means outlets outside the main left/right cable and newspaper brands: independent, international, libertarian or progressive-independent newsrooms.
The neutral summary is written by AI (Anthropic's Claude) from the headlines and opening text of every article shown for the story, across all three sides. It starts with what they agree on and notes where they differ. The one-line notes under each side describe how that side's outlets frame the story. A summary is rewritten when enough new coverage arrives. They can contain mistakes. Always open the original articles before relying on a detail.
Breaking means the newest article in a story is under 45 minutes old.
Trending topics come from Bluesky's public trending list and from rising US searches on Google. X, Threads and Truth Social don't publish their trending lists for other sites to use, so each topic links to a search for it on those platforms. A story is marked Trending when it matches one of these topics.
Prices in the Markets section come from a TradingView widget and may be delayed. They are for information only and are not investment advice.
